I think everything is illegal except a bc plate. Those cops can be f**kers.

Hey Mike
It is illegal to run any plate other than a bc licence on the front of the car. You can run both or just the euro plate and most cops won't care but if they feel like it they can ticket you.

i ran a euro plate for 2 years that didnt have my actual plate number on it without hassle. when i run nothing i get hassled all the time. in other words, its better than nothing. again, as has been stated, they technically can ticket you.

I ran a euro plate for a year and got 2 tickets in 1 week, so I put the stock plate on... I will probably switch back to the Euro one, but its such a PITA when they pull you over, and here in SoCal they are writing up cars for having mods and then you must smog your car at a test only station, so its really not worth the trouble. My euro plate matches the rear plate too...

You're probably fine in Vancouver. Cops are just too busy to pull ppl over for illegal plates. There are some traffic cops floating around though, and thats their sole job. Richmond is another story. They'll ticket their own mothers.

I agree with all the above. Just to add to that, depending on how bored they are, the counterattack roadchecks can be the worst for handing out stupid tickets. (Ie: plates, clear corners, light burnt out, N sign, etc...)
I don't run a front plate, I haven't for the equivalent of about a year, and pass cops all the time. It is required by state law here that cars have their state-issued plate mounted. The only thing that realistically will happen to me is that I'll be pulled over at night when they want to do a check for DUI, and if that's all they want to do, it's fine by me. So far, I've gotten the impression that they wouldn't ticket me for it, assuming I'm not an ass to them, but I suppose I'll eat my words when it happens. Knock on wood, right?

With roadchecks, it's actually ICBC, who fund the checks, who demands that the tickets be written. Officers who normally dont write tickets do so at roadchecks because the order is sent down the chain of command. So yea, if you dont want a ticket, don't get caught going through one without your front plate!

that's what I thought :( I don't want to get pulled over so I guess that idea is out...
tks for your input.
