Ok, called Turner Motorsport today to order a M42 chip. Guy said they use UPS for an additional $12. $261 US total. Problem is besides Customs and Excise grabbing 14% of the Cdn. value the UPS clowns charge $49.90 Cdn. for brokerage fees. Of course Turner refused to use USPS Air Mail.
Cdn. distributor for JC chips is Tunerworks in Calgary.
So I called and spoke to a guy called Mark. His price for the M42 JC chip is $319 plus only 1 tax even for us in B.C. Now you could have Turner Motorsport ship to Blaine and shipping is free, then its only $249 US.
The Eberspaecher OEM replacement muffler I ordered from BMA in California was about $280 landed Cdn. Mark's price is $279.
Oxygen sensors for the M42 Lordco wants $243 for the Bosch unit, there price $169. For what its worth, nice to have another parts place to compare.

My .0188 cents worth

I am really surprised how close those prices are. Every time I have looked at parts I have saved 50% or more by importing my parts from Point Roberts.

When I started buying parts I got quotes from The BMW Store, Pelican, BavAuto, and Pacific BMW. The prices between The BMW Store and the American distributors were night and day.

I never buy anything in Canada unless it’s an emergency.

Well if anything I am interested in the dyno results. I was born to be a shit disturber so lets wait till my car gets here next week and I can get the tires /exhaust and JC chip put into it. Then off to a dyno shop, I have never met anyone from this group but am looking forward to it as well as a fair comparison of the JC chip (advertised as 14hp increase) against the Mark D. one. Not that I give a shit which ones better or worse, just curious what the makers product will do. By the way his prices are in US on the website, but its still $69 cheaper Cdn. than Tunerworks price for the JC unit.

Ya weird hes got a note on his website as it requiring 92, then down below he on the price list he says 91. I might have bought his chip but he still has not answered my e mail regarding his chip and any differences between the JC one.

Cheers Mark D.

Ummm... it's not much to look at. Just another silver 318is in so-so shape. The car is set up for stock class autocrossing this year so aside from the front sway bar and the KONIs, the car is pretty much totally stock.

Most of my efforts have been maintenance items.
