im wondering this, because i put in my new water pump after the drive on sunday and now i can't get the temp above the blue mark. i beat on the car for about 30 min, with no cooling fans on, and it only rose a hair above the blue mark, and then it lowerd back down shortly after. so my question is, is did i get a faulty thermostat?

i've definatly heard that once in a while you'll get a faulty one. Pull it and test it in boiling water.

have you fully bled the cooling system after doing the job? i've had this problem before in the past. try bleeding the coolant again maybe?

lol he has bled the coolant all over the engine and the body lol man that was a good ride though eh. the boiling water sounds like its a sure way to find out. hope ya figure it out.

If you've bled the system and the temp's not rising, the t-stat would have to be stuck wide open. I've only seen that when part of the t'stat fram broke. You'll see it as soon as you pull it. If it failed straight away be sure to take it back to the seller and get it warranteed.
