Well it's the day after Mission. It was fantastic. We had 24 cars show up, seperated into 2 groups (slow group and fast group, of course I was in the fast group). There were 5 e46 M3's, a nice e30 M3, my car, an AMG SLK32, Ford Focus SVT, and a smattering of other cars (including a first gen lotus esprit). I did about 150kms worth of laps on the track, it was fantastic! My group had the SVT, 3 of the M3's, a guy in a e46 325i who was super fast, an e36 M3 4 door and the AMG. I held my own pretty good even though I was down over 160hp vs the new M3's. I was just as quick as the stock M3's in the corners but slower than the one guy who has the blisten PSS9 suspension (that guy was probably the fastest guy out there). Of course in the straights I got killed but I was only about 1.5 to 2 seconds slower a lap vs the M3's, thus I didn't get passed. Everyone was quite surprised on how fast my car was, especially for it's age and it's low power compared to the other cars I was driving with. The instructors picked me as the best driver in the group at the end of the day, I got a pirelli hat, haha. Show's that we should crush our cars, we have to restore them.

hahaha, I saw that hat in your room and I wonder where you got it. Is the BMW Club gonna have anything at bigger tracks like PIR or SIR?

Alex how did the E30 M3's do? Do you have to replace your pads after an event like this?

The e30 M3 guy wasn't an experienced driver so he was slow, but the car sounded awesome going down front straight. I run porterfield R4-S street/track pads and I've been to 4 track events and put 20,000kms on them and I still have about 45% pad material left. I find that running those pads up front (stock rear) and ATE super blue is fine on the street and track. The pads are dusty and noisy though but excellent braking on the track, I haven't faded them yet.
