That is expensive. I think that is still Peter's car for sale. I just sold mine last week for $17k and it was in great shape.
But then that's not a lot of money when your getting as much fun as this.......

You can get your 318is to handle as well as that M3 with the proper mods. You might not have the same straightline speed but it will turn as well....

This is true... However, the sound and output of that engine is amazing... However, I can hardly wait to see what kowalski cooks up!!

two words: driving school. I've been to about 16 track days and I learn something each time. Plus you get to drive as fast as you want.....

What driving school do you recommend? And how much should you expect to pay for something like that?

The bmw club of BC has an excellent one. I think it's 175 or 195 for an entire day. You get about 4 hours track time (which is a lot). There are a few other good ones like sportscar club of bc and they are a bit cheaper but you get less track time and they tend to be snobs unless you have a 300 hp car...

I think the event being displayed there is Solo 1, also called SoloSprint here in BC (http://www.caccautosport.org/solo.htm). It's basically a higher speed version of autocross/Solo 2.
If you're interested in doing something like this locally, I've been racing locally with VCMC - we have a driving school which you can read about here: http://vcmc.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=5863
For great videos, check out this one too: http://vcmc.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=5153
I should be at most VCMC events this year - if anyone's interested in coming out to try or just go for a ride, let me know!

Alex, those are mostly driver training courses right?
Arthur, I'd like to come out with you one of those days if you don't mind. I've been out with Alex once already :).

Who's going to sign up for the Saturday, June 10th Session??? I WANT TO DAMMIT!
If I'm not a member or anything yaddah yaddah yaddah, it's like $40.00 right? I don't understand why new members are cheaper than returning members, considering we get a "free event" too... I don't know if I read that right
Do we actually get to drive? It keeps saying "hands on instruction"

I agree, the prices on the website are a bit strange... This is definitely something I'd like to look into in the future, seems like sooooo much fun!!

Track training days are the best thing you can do in your car. It's safe, you learn a lot and it's not hard on your car.
One of my best friend runs a program a couple times a year that I always attend. Here are the links to them.

I can talk too him and I bet if we had enough people interested we could hold our very own Bimmerclassics track day. It could be held at Mission raceway ( a bit more expensive) or even at Boundary bay.
How cool would that be?
Anyone interested, if let's say the cost was under $300 for the day?

If you could set something like that setup I would be exetremely interested. I did a couple hot laps last year with the Resist the Race program. Only did about 10 laps but it was alot of fun.

Chad, I think it's probably closer to $200 b/c it's a driving training event. I posted on the forum about the price and I'll let you know soon.
Murphy, I'd be up for it if it was at boundary bay :). (Walls are a bit intimidating.

Yes they can be.
A few track days ago a guy put his e36 M3 into the wall right in front of me. He was ok, but the car... well. You don't want to know.
I take that corner slow everytime now

I like how Mission added the extra turns. Took my brothers car out last time, spun out once at the 90 degree turn before the carousel. I had the instructor in the car the next time around and he nearly spun it too.
