I'll be out there on these dates for sure, possibly others if I can fit them in.

04/30/06 Sunday VCMC Novice Series #1
05/07/06 Sunday CACC Regional #1
05/28/06 Sunday VCMC Novice Series #2
06/04/06 Sunday CACC Regional #2
07/22/06 Saturday Kumho Super Challenge Day 1
07/23/06 Sunday Kumho Super Challenge Day 2

If you want to go for a ride as a passenger, it has to be a non-"Regional" event. Just email me closer to the date at arthurmchan@gmail.com if you want to meet up there. VCMC events will generally have a "Chief of Novices" assigned to help show you the ropes if you're unfamiliar with the sport.

Our membership fee includes a free event in order to attract first-timers. Basically it goes like this:

Never been a VCMC member: $40 (includes first regular event free)
Renewing member up to first event of the year: $40
Renewing member: $50

Entry fee for an event is usually $25 - this pretty much goes for the other clubs as well (UBCSCC and BCMA).

Our Velocity driving school includes an evening classroom session (typically in Vancouver on the Thursday before the on-track school) and a full day of instructor-led training. The current fee for the school is $150, and you do use your own car. Here's a link to our 2006 sessions: http://vcmc.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=5863

Arthur, do we have to be a member to take the driving school?

Yes, membership is required.

So that's $150+$40 = $190 for the driving class if you're not a member right? You wouldn't know how many more spots are left open would you?

Yes, that's right - and it will include your first event's entry fee (assuming you've never been a VCMC member before). Regarding remaining spots, you can email Alex our Velocity director at velocity@vcmc.ca. It will almost certainly sell out (every Velocity school over at least the last 3 years has sold out).
