Seats ideas?

Hi everybody! I have a 1982 E21 (320i) the exterior is saphireblau metallic so the interior is blue. My seats are completely worn out but that's just the upholstery, foam and base still look great. Buying new seats is very pricey and having them re-upholstered professionally is still a little too much for the schoolboy I am, so I think I might be able to re-upholster them myself but I would like to have the original fabric or a very close match. Does anybody have an idea of were I could find the stuff???

Alot of the time places where you can buy fabrics can match the upholestry almost perfecty. I would check with a place like that first.

also spray painting the back shelf while you got the interior out. I switched over my e21's interior to a sport one and the rear shelf was faded. Sprayed it with black paint and it looks really nice. Can't wait to put it in.

AS for the seats and stuff, if you don't mind taking the seats apart, the pieces of cloth can come off, you can get replacements (expensive) or do some patch work, where you sew in new sections. I think it would be easier going to a fabric store and getting similar colored material and sewing it in rather than finding similar patterned stuffed.
