Antenna Grommet Removal, how?

How do I remove the antenna grommet? The rubber part around the antenna. I pulled out the long antenna put I can't get the rubber thing off, the center part is still metal. Do I have to pull it from underneath?

I've chewed up the existing grommet now because I tried yanking on it w/ pliers...plus it's probably the orginal one (it's stiff).

It just pops out, you have to use some lube to get it out. FYI I have a new one you can have for $10 if you care.
