Do you know any local spots to pick up some parts for a good price? I could goto the dealership for most of those parts, but dealership prices are usually

Right now Im looking for
- new thermostat (.. and gasket and o-ring)
- 1 foglight cover (left)
- 1 left fender
- clear turn signals
- euro bumper trim for front and back
- bumper licence plate filler
- and a new antenna grommet

- and also a service manual. . . most seems to not cover the m42 engine? Do i have to get both the e30 one and the e36 one?

or which online vendors are good to deal with?

thanks guys

I'm getting a new left front fender from Lordco. Dealer price was $210. List price at Lordco was $127. With my discount, it's $100. This is for an e21 fender mind you but it's worth a shot in ordering from them cause you won't have to deal with the shipping headache.

Clear turn signals are easy to make yourself. I used the plastic that covers flourescent lights. Cut two pieces of that and haven't had any problems since. You can tell on mine cause I just did a quick job to try them out, (gonna make a better set soon) but if done nicely they look alright, plus it's cheap.

Bumper filler probably go with BavAuto.
Thermostat, again Lordco.
Antenna grommet, maybe easier just to go with dealer? Is it an expensive part?

I know Eap4parts.com has a lot of good prices sometimes and I have heard that their customer service is crap ie. they don't pick up their phone but my brother has ordered from them a couple times and other than some slow delivery times, no problems yet.

Bavauto also sells the manuals.

well I just ordered some stuff from BavAuto, should be here in couple weeks.

I still need (more like want) the Euro bumper trim and bumper filler.

But now I realized I also want a new shift knob, because mine is looking old (maybe an illuminated one) and also new floormats.

Mite as well as order some bilsteins and H&Rs because i need the car lowered...

this is just endless :agree:

You're telling me. 4 bimmers in my family, all wanting mods/fixes/upgrades.

I might as well get a job at The BMW Store, I'm there so much.

I'd never be able to handle more than 1 car haha

anyways, im getting new floormats from the dealer soon. And the prices for the euro trim was 73 each for the front, and 60 each for the back! Now, im taking second thoughts, because thats like 300 bucks! Had no luck with eBay either :(

Yeah, I'm looking for a right Fog Light Cover (mine is cracked) and a front valance for the 318IS. If anyone knows where I can get a good deal on then, please let me know. I've called a few places and the fog light cover was no problem to find, but the front valance was a couple hundred bucks... I don't know if that's the regular price for it or not. It was something like $330? Something like that...

*Edit* I went to BavAuto.com and I see that they're selling the front valence for $94.95, is that a good deal?

I just ordered my foglight cover off Bavauto for only $9.. i thoguht it was strangely cheap, but it doesnt come painted, so i guess that will cost extra.

hey, the fog light cover you're referring to, is it the plastic piece that fills in the hole where a fog light would go on the bumper, or is it just a protective clear piece that goes over top of a real fog light? i lost the plastic filler piece and i'm trying to find a replacement. i couldn't find them on bavauto...

Um Lordco for body panels? They will be aftermarket and fit and finish will be questionable. BMA in CA or dealer or used from Ebay would be my choice. $2 hun for an OEM fender is cheap.

hmmm....what are the risks involved in ordering body panels from remote sources? I can't imagine the vendor taking responsibility for shipping damages, dents, etc.

I personally would rather order panels from the US then aftermarket crap here. Only my opinion of course........ I shipped many parts from CA to Blaine, none have arrived damaged, (knock on wood)

it's true, those body panels are crap fit to finish, I'd rather get a used one and refinish it...

Just used BMV (aka Netcomparts.com) in Richmond to get a couple pieces, the prices were the same (considering current exchange rate) as getting them from BMA Parts in Cali, plus no shipping hassles. Although, BMA Parts is also friendly and easy to use.

Most of the time I just shop around on ebay till I find a good deal.
