Hmmm... four door M3. That must be the one-off that BMW Motorsport kept hidden from us, mere mortals. He, he. Or perhaps a more common M-Technic equipped car. It's okay, many people will get confused between M-Technic and Motorsport cars. Pretty sure that a few pictures would help sell that jewel.

Maybe it's a hidden mtech2 that we're unaware of, LOL.

I love it when people try to sell things about which they are complete ignoramaces. On the other hand, maybe it's an E36 M3 four door....

It says 1988. So it must be an e30...

It's back...!
...and this time with pics...>>> http://vancouver.craigslist.org/car/289166658.html
Am I wrong, or is that ///M badge on the instrument cluster just one of those little puffy peel-off stickers that you see on either the M-tech 2 steering wheel or on the 7/8-series M-parallel wheels...? ... hmm, someone with an E30 M3 would surely know...
Doesn't look like an M engine... what factory-option would possibly make this 325i's engine more 'powerful' as he states in his ad...?
Difficult to tell by the teeny pics what type of condition it's in though.

LOL, I'm almost positive that it's a sticker. The M3 cluster goes to 8k rpm doesn't it? Also, I'm pretty sure that's an M20, and as far as I know, no factory options were available to "make it faster".
OMG, race bucket seats guys!
I originally wasn't going to reply to this thread, then I saw the ad+pics.. Outrageous...

The bumper looks like metal painted black...
Does M3 has metal bumper ?
Does M3 has metal bumper ?
No.
The seller is an idiot, or an opportunist looking for an idiot.
It's a regular 325 with no body kit. There is no M3 option. For the E30, there were no 4-door M3s. M3 tach needles are red. The M3 has a 7250 RPM redline. The M3 tach goes to 8000 RPM. The M3 has an oil temperature gauge where the 325 fuel economy gauge is. I'm sure there are more problems with this 325 with the M3 option, but I've lost interest at the first picture.

yeah he is obviosly just trying to find a stupid kid who wants a fast cheap car. Granted a E30 is a good bet on that promising it has a more powerful engine is ridiculous. we should all email this guy and tell him he is an idiot.

The way he rattles off the description sounds like he's just spewing what the sales guy who sold it to him said. Probably bought it from some sketchy place along Hastings, you know what I'm talking about ( or Bimmerhaus, lol don't get me started on those guys.....). All it needs is a Type "R" sticker and the sales guy would tell you it's a special joint project car built by BMW F1 team and Honda, lol.

BMW Motorsport VINs start with WBS, and regular BMWs start with WBA. BMW Motorsport is actually a separate manufacturer.

I would imagine that trying to talk sense into this guy is like trying to mud wrestle a pig - the pig likes it and you just get dirty.

There was a ''four door M3'' of sorts. It was called 320is, a regular E30 with a destroked S14 (2.0l), available in Italy and Portugal for road tax reasons. It was available in 2 & 4 door models. Check out: http://www.bmwe21.net/320is/
I was tempted to bid on one that was listed on eBay.de about 10 months ago and eventually sold for about 2000 €. It was a 4 door and low spec, i.e. 14" steel wheels, comfort cloth interior etc... Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that this particular car is 4 door M3 :)

I can't actually take credit for it. There was a guy named Joe Bill Dryden who built a 69 1600 with a hotrodded S38 in it back in the early 90's. He was a test pilot for General Dynamics, and died on a test flight a few years ago. VERY cool little M3502 he built though.

I know there was the 320i's but those wern't actually m3's they just came with the m3 motor as a substitute for italy not getting an m3. plus his car clearly has an m20 in it.

I cannot wait for the lawsuit that ensues from this guy selling this to someone who actually believes they just purchased an M3. :woohoo:
