SO who's all going to the picnic? Is there a group driving down together? I might go if there is. I finally have my car fixed NO thanks to Brandon @ CG (he's a meat) I ended up going to Van Auto, they took GREAT care of me.

What was wrong with the car? well it's a long story but it has to do with faulty parts and over heating but now she's A-ok! I still have to get the brakes done on July 5th and I'll be taking it to the dealer (Van Auto). I didn't know this before but they have a 2 year warranty on all parts and labor, and since the cost isn't much higher than CG or other independants why go anywhere else. Plus I live two minutes away so I can walk there and they treat me like a king.

My brother and I are in for the picnic. We need to decide where to meet up so we can all go down together. Oh, Vancouver Auto changed their name to the BMW Store.

Hi Doug,
So who's all going? Do most of the people live on the west side? If so we could always meet at "The BMW Store" formerly known as Vancouver Auto ;) and go from there.

As long as it's not pouring rain, I'm going as well.

same goes for me, I'm only going if it's sunny. And FYI I squared things up with Chris @ CG, so I take back what I said at the start of this post. Except the meat part
BTW Alex or anyone else have you been to this event before? it's a long trip. To make it back by 6:30pm you'll leave around 1:00pm It takes 4+ hours just to get there. What time are we planning to leave Vancouver? and what time does the event start? When I went to the first one I didn't get there until 3:00pm and it was pretty much over shortly after. I think I left Vancouver around 10:00am so we should leave around 7:00am IMO it's too far of a drive for 1-2 hours of meeting people.

I'd love to make it down one year, but I won't be able to make it this year. Take lots of pics. There are always a few super clean M3's there
well i live in coquitlam, i could drive to van auto.....but almost makes no sense as i will be back tracking.
we'll see maybe we can be up along the freeway.

Which way are we all going??? I was thinking oak street, 99 to the 91 over the alex fraser br. back to the 99 til the pacific crossing. (If that makes sense) But we can take the #1 too it doesn't matter too me... If we take the #1 we can always meet on the east side somewhere, or just at Spaz's location. 8:00 am works for me, we'll get there between noon and 1:00pm. However since Alex has to be back in Vancouver for work by 6:30pm he has to leave no later than 2:30pm and pray theres no boarder traffic. Is an hour and half enough time for Alex and Doug? Then again Alex can always drive home on his own, and I can give Doug a ride home if you want to stay longer Doug.
As for the weather from what I've seen it'll be overcast but probably won't rain, maybe the odd sprinkle. As long as it's not pissing out I'm in.

It doesn't take that long to get there. With Vince in the V1, 3 hours max.

are you sure? I remember it taking much longer than that the first time... Maybe there's a shorter route? Plus I wasn't speeding ;) Anyways 3 hours isn't bad at all so that's good. Where are we meeting then? and what route are we taking.

Hey guys I've posted some of the pics I took today. We had over 100 E30's show up but only 5 from Vancouver. We'll have to do better next year.

The next big meet is the Seattle Concours, Saturday, July 24th at Cedar River Park in Renton. This event is open to all BMW's from the club, so they usually get a few hundred cars.
i'll be there next year for sure!
and thanks for the pics...all the cars look great

Awwww, snap! Looks like it was a wicked trip. Sorry I bailed without a note. My car wasn't ready cause the wheel shop is lame. Nice pics though and I'm glad it was good weather too.

Nice photos, Anthony. I still like that one the best where the guy has electrical tape holding his filter in place. Truly ghetto.
