I've been watching the amazing Victory by Design (http://www.victorybydesign.com/) series and at the end of each series they list the owners of the cars and one name that keeps popping up is Bamford Excavators (http://www.jcbamericas.com/app/home.aspx).
I googled them and it turns out they are the worlds 4th largest excavation equipment manufacturer and the best part is they are private! So what do you do when you have boat loads of cash and no shareholders to report to? Buy super rare, super expensive race cars of course!
If you have an interest in automotive history, especially racing history then I would highly recommend this series.

That is one of the best sounding shows I've ever seen... I wish they'd do a BMW episode though.

They're excellent DVD's...
I was also asking the same question too... why no Mercedes-Benz even?... They have an amazing Motorsport history... why no BMW?...why no Germans?

It's an English series, and they hate the Germans, just ask Jeremy from Top Gear. Just kidding, the episode on Porsche was really great. Wouldn't you love de Cadenet's job?

^+1 Also I think it might have something to do with a focus on sedans rather than pure sports cars

Yeah especially the Ferrari one. You can just tell he's thrilled to be driving that car. I really enjoy the Making Of video. Some of the cars are insured up to $5million!!!
