Well I put my car into storage yesterday. Shes now sitting 400KM away in a garage in the woods. Kind of sad... but for the first time in 4 years I don't have a vehicle actively insured! Kind of bittersweet. However she went to storage in a rather fabulous manner. She got a good work out on the Coquihalla(You mean that doesn't mean Autobahn?).. Unfortunatly she just about got wiped out by an idiot in a explorer in the rest stop before the toll booth... Anyways.. I will see you again soon 'Plow....

Hopefully the septic tank doesn't explode under the garage!

She's just in cryogenic storage, like Stallone in that movie that I only dimly recall... they thawed his bad-ass out to kick some mo-fo butt.

...and it's great that you're providing a home for underprivileged mice and other vermin. Before you start 'er up again just lock a cat in there for a couple days. Then some detailing and bob's yer uncle.

Why did this have to happen....? and 400KM away no less...?!? What are the future plans for the Plow...? Why did you have to put her away...? Why do I feel like a 6 year-old asking these questions...? Who will take care of her...? Why did this... have... to..... :(

The garage is "Vermin free" Theres been an american Icon parked in there for nearly 3 years and no mice problems. Plus theres a care taker that makes sure no badness goes down. Shes safe...

Basically my insurance quote of 2700$ with a 20% discount kind of shocked me. Right now I'm trying to pay down some debt, fix and sell the other e30 I just picked up and concentrate on my Beetle project. Unfortunatly I'm not rockafeller. But having two cars on the road at the same time.. that and the price of gas and the fact that my 2002 has been neglected made it seem sensible to put the e30 into storage for a while and then to rock the oil burner for a few months. Its only 119 bucks a month to insure and has a much smaller gas tank. Future plans for the plow involve. De-shadowlining it, putting in clear lights, redoing the interior, finishing up the euroizing, fix the rust and the door, and reinstall AC...... She will be back by September....

Oh yes the wipe out definition. I was parked in the Coquihalla parking lot pull off for a bathroom break. I was parked on the right most part of the parking lot up against a berm. So I go to leave and see a exploder to my left back out and hang a left going against the flow off traffic(Its a one way sort of parking lot. Going back towards Hope makes no sense in the slightest). Anyways I start backing up since I'm rather far forward(Parked direction behind my dad who was in a parking spot at the front of the lot). I start backing up and all of a sudden I see the nose of the explorer come into the rearview mirror and the side view mirror. I slam on the brakes and realize that the exploder had just basically gone on a 70 degree angle the wrong way taking up the whole parking lot to turn around and gone behind me. I was mere inches from wiping out my taillight and quarter on his front bumper. I of course looked at the driver in a look of shock and one of "WTF!?" since his move made no sense at all. Needless to say I've been checking that blind spot now a LOT more now after saturday.

Yeah, its generally a good idea to avoid Explorer's at all times. Probably all SUV's come to think of it.
