Not a bad car. Heaps of torque and is a missle on the highway. Solid as a tank. I just got myself a C43 which is probably the little brother to this car. There are too many controls and gizmos on Mercs, not to mention they do not hold the road anywhere close to a BMW (in these years and models).
There aseems to be little aftermarket help in terms of maintenance and repair. If you go to the dealer and are lucky enough to get an appointment that week, prepare for a coronary.
If anyone knows of a reliable mechanic for these cars please email me too.

Yeah I saw that one on craigslist. The price seemed a little too good. Make sure you have it FULLY checked out.

the guy said there was one claim on it but he made it sound very casual so I figured it was something small maybe 10k max... well it was 38K+
I was leary right away when I heard what his name was....

Sounds similar to something that happened to me. Before I bought my current e30, I spent 9 months looking for the perfect car. Found a 90-ish 325i in pretty decent shape, the guy said no accidents, only a couple break and enter claims. I did a lien check and found out it had one large accident. $28,000! The claim was also entered before it was sold to it's first owner, turns out it was damaged during shipping or unloading off the train and the claim was put in by the dealer. I didn't buy the car.....haha.
