As you pointed out, also not exactly my fave Supercar at the moment either.
Bit of a sticky-badge Queen IMO. With McLaren's marketing Department pretending that this SLR has something in common with Stirling Moss's historic Mille Miglia-winning 300 SLR (given #722 because of their 7:22am start-time) just goes to show that this particular I-know-how-we-can-move-more-units 'Special Edition' model is, as an Evo write-in letter announced, 'a car designed by marketing people for marketing people to buy, and as long as you have no knowledge of history then just maybe you'll be taken in by it'.
Though, it does look rather fierce in the flat-black I must agree... I just still can't believe they use assorted, cheap plastics in the console and even fake-aluminium looking dials in a car that costs as much as it does...

No, that's a different Merc-monster. You're thinking of the utterly insane Brabus V12 Bi-turbo 730 bhp/811 lb/ft (!) SL65 (based on the SL600).
This one is the overpriced, porky, heavily-lacking-in-steering-feel, slush-box Mercedes McLaren SLR '722' Special Edition.

I love how that Brabus is calling the engine "The Rocket".
