Hey Guys

My friend is putting on another track day at the end of this month. They are always a good time and a great experience if it's your first time. And if you've done them before, the top running group is always the same good group of guys, and girls..... Pam will kick your ass lol. And you get lots of lapping time ( last time 6 sessions at 15min each). No ego's at this one, and plenty of excellent coaching.

I hope to see some of you there.

I'm already signed up for it. I'm looking forward to the learning. It's my first "real" track day... I've done several autox's in the past, but this should be a whole different experience.

One of my other buddies with an MR2 spyder is also going, he did it about two years ago and said it was an absolute blast and he learned tons.

See you there!

Aswome! I can't wait to see you and that sweeeet car of yours. Your going to have so much fun. There is always a real diverse selection of cars. There are the regulars, so you 'll see a 430, lotus, Tim usually brings out the Ford Gt, a few m3's, my buddy and his S4,Pam's sweet NSX. Always a bunch of P cars too. And you get a handfull of wrx, civics, integra's. They group everyone really well based on car and skill of course. May be we can get our bimmers to run together. Last time out I ran with my buddy who was driving my old e30 M3, another guy in his e46 M3 and me in my e36 M3, it was pretty cool.

Wow that is a good turn out - lots of diversity. I hope a few newbies show up... I don't want to be the only one amoungst pros!!

Any suggestions, things I should take, bring, be prepared for etc, that were not mentioned on their site? Experience usually speaks volumes.

Cheers.

Don't worry at all, there is always lots of newbies. And the staff do an excellent job of making everyone feel confident being out there.

The weather can affect what i bring. But First thing is clean your car out of everything that is not bolted down to the car, even stuff in your glove box. You car is going to be dancing around all day so shake it of all it's loose crap. Turn it into a go kart. I'll take my spare wheel with me but take it out at the track. A complete change of clothes is good, so you can layer up or down depending on the temp. If you have driving shoes bring an extra pair. On rainy days I'll switch when I get in and out of the car so as not to get the soles all wet. They provide plenty of food and drinks but you can always bring snacks. Bring a camera 'cus you'll see some cool cars, an umbrella if it's raining and I usually bring a big box to store everthing I bring so I can leave it in the pits in one clean package.

They provide helmets if you don't have one but you can always use your own. Be there on time for inspection, the faster everyone goes through, the faster we get to lapping ;)

It's a full day and you'll be dead tired by the end. Your drive home will feel sooo slow after a day of just givn'r. There is a Chevron close by you can fill up at, some guys will go with half a tank to save on weight but's a waste of time as you most definately will go through it and need to fill up half way through the day. And if you really want peace of mind, stop by Nixon auto for a track inspection, it won't cost more than $90 and you'll be confident of your car.

Just curious but are you running the s52 or s54 engine in your car? Oh wait, it's a 2000 right? So s52

Yessir, S52... S54 would be nice but she should hold up well never the less.
I have my own helmet (community ones got gross in the summer with sweat etc...).

Thanks for the info! I'll be ready!

Lets hope for a dry day!

Perfect!!

I just put in Bilstein sport shocks, H&R springs, shock mounts, new rotors and some pagids yesterday, you could say I'm a little excited. My car is running perfectly :buttrock:

And you saw the email about the hot laps for charity? I think it's open to anyone too. During the lunch break the coaches will be taking people for hotlaps for the small price of a donation to a charity. This year they have a ferrari 430, Ford Gt and few other yet to be revealed cars race cars ;)

Last year I got 4 laps in the GT and a couple in the race preped C6..... omg...it was awsome.....

Lagin, where are you located? We could hook up in the morning for the drive out there.

Hey murphymurf,

I'm actually going to prep the car tomorrow - strip it of all the loose bits and give her a good wash, fluids, etc... but I'm actually going to drop in on the parents who live not more than 10 minutes drive away from the Raceway. Buys me an extra half hour of sleep or so :)

I'd say we could meet up, but I'll be in Abbotsford.

Too bad though, she could use a good warm up before the day begins.

I have the OE springs in right now on the bilstien sports, still waiting on the H&R's .... I'll be interested to see how your setup performs. After my alignment was done it made a world of difference but she still feels a bit soft in the turns. I'll know for sure after Tuesday what else I need to have done.

Ok cool, I'll just meet you there.

If you like you can give my setup a try. I'm more than impressed with it. So tight, a vast improvement over the stock springs.... you notice it right away. Regular driving isn't compromised that much, but around the corners...wow... huge difference. All I want to do is drive..... :buttrock:

What a great day that was. I have a couple of pics of your car I can send to you. PM me your email and I'll send. I alsogot some sweet pics of the super cars.

Next time you'll get to run in the GT class..... one benefit is you don't get all bunched up like in the novice class. It was cool meeting you, hopefully I'll see you at the next one!
