Just came back from the letter carrier, pretty good experience.

Pt Roberts is only about 20mins from richmond, border lineup was okay, about 1/2 hour (when I came back into canada, the lineup was only 5 mins, bad timing I guess).

I bought 2 sets of tires, 8 rotors and 2 sets of brake pads, the letter carrier only charged me 16.75 handling charge. I got there at a good time cause as I left there was a 5 person lineup behind me. They are very very busy, they didn't even bother answering the telephone which rang for the 15 mins that I was there. They are very dis-organized, I had to find 4 of my own tires myself, but for the savings in cost it was worth it.

Customs was no problem, a bit busy but no hassle. On a 1450 USD purchase, duty was only 160 cdn.

Glad I took the touring, I don't think I could fit anything more into it.

and the others are pirelli P zero nero. i paid $775 for those here in town and they were 16 inch. sounds like a great deal (considering you've got 17s which are more expensive, two set etc etc)!

I wouldn't mind knowing what kind of rotors you got.

Ha ha
I just came back with from TLC
4 Kumho Exsta ASX 205/55/VR15 66$ each at tirerack.com
2 Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 205/55/WR15 $116 each
2 Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2 225/50/WR15 $130 each
and previous order was for brake parts all round (ATE spirograph discs) and Hawk pads.
My experience at TLC was very similar. For the tires they had no paper work, and I had to find tires myself, outside in the driving rain, but the whole experience was very quick - only a few minutes. Charge for the 8 tires 11$. Charge for the 3 boxes of brake parts - 4$including phone call to Vancouver.

The place looks like a mess and they do not answer the phone, but the service is fast and cheap.

I'd prefer to support local retailers, and I frequently do pay extra to support the local folks, but I can't ingore 400$ in savings on a 750$ tire order.

No review on the tires 'till next year.
As for the Hawk ceramic pads, I am not happy. I will probably move back to pagid.

I could have told you that! I always tell my customers, and anyone who asks, that the OEM stuff is much much better for daily driving, as well as autocross, and occasional track use. We use Pagid, TRW, Jurid, and sometimes ATE. ALL are excellent products.

As for tires, I have accounts with all the major tire distributors in BC. BUT, I ordered my Kumho ASX's from Tire Rack, and I just ordered some snowies for the 735, from Discount Tire. The savings is HUGE, even over my wholesale prices.

If you guys want a place to pick up packages south of the border, that IS organised, DOES answer the phone, doesn't make you walk around in the pouring rain, and are super friendly to boot, call Hagen's of Blaine. I've been dealing with them for a few years, and have never had a complaint.
