Roundie, coil-overs... $3500

I've seen this car about a month ago. We were cruising through Yarrow and there it was on the side of the road with a for sale sign on it. It looked ok from a distance, but when I walked around it I got the impression it was very tired indeed. Seemed mostly there but I recall being not impressed. Not a bad project car I guess, but I would say it is still the start of the project. The ad seems to imply that it is further along than the impression I got. Then again, the price may be ok for a car in this condition, I don't know the prices on 2002s.

"31,000 Miles on original carburated engine"

Most likely 131,000 or even 231,000. If it only had 31,000 it probably shouldn't have had much previous rust, but the owner says it has had rust/body work.

"originally imported from Germany."

All 2002's were made in Germany and imported to North America

"Still has a few missing pieces such as the original center grille insert, weather stripping around the doors and rear license plate lights.
Car is nearly in daily driver condition. "

Weather stripping is a MUST have at least for a daily driver. The other items are just cosmetic, but each drive and passenger side door seals will run at least $300.

Push button ignition also scares me.

Over all, without seeing the car it's hard to say, but from the pictures it looks like it needs a lot of work, but if all of the rust has already been taken care of(doubt it) then $3500 seems reasonable, but maybe not as nice as the owner describes it.

I agree. As is the car seems rather scary. But, if it has no rust, and it does have coil-overs, this is a great price for the basis of a project.
If it was me, that thing wouldn't hit the road without another $4000 tossed at it. To me, and I think to most people, $7500 is cheap for a non-rust 2002.
