Not a real Alpina though. Just a 633 with Alpina "look" stuff?

I don't know enough to tell other than the fact it is a European car, but I am sure someone here has to be enough of a specialist to confirm/deny.

I can't quite make out the badge, and it is the right colour, but Alpina used the 2.8 M30 and the 3.4 M30, but I don't think they ever used the 3.2 M30 that were placed in the 533 and the 633. If it was an real b9 or b10 it would be an amazing steal for the 250hp M30 engine alone.

I don't care for that one. It has the crappy old m30 and looks tired with that faded paint. Not worth the asking price, even $1500 would be a bit high for that old beast.

Badges, steering wheels and shift knobs can be had on the internet. Even the seats and body kits are available. I've seen a couple of really nice "Alpina Look" 6-ers from Japan, and it's a popular "appearance upgrade."

The only true way to tell is the VIN. Email Alpina (you can Google their website) with the VIN and they will tell you if it's one of theirs. I've done it a few times on cars that I thought I'd try to buy, and they responded within a week usually.

Visual clues that aren't common are the builder's VIN plate under the hood, and the Alpina number plate usually somewhere on the centre console. Even those can be found on Ebay though.

Even a tired Alpina M30 is worth the price of admission if it's the real thing though. The mods they did to the whole car back then are a spectacular combination of performance and refinement. If it's the real thing it would be a B9 (I think if it was a B7 Turbo Coupe the seller would say so - the badging was not subtle).

The car does look a bit neglected, and I can't make out the badge, but something doesn't look right about it (it almost looks like a B10 3.5 badge, which would be from an E34). If you go look at it, take loads of pics and post them.

If its a rust free, complete euro sixer its easily worth that.

The e24 b10 3.5 started in 1985. Same badging as the e28 b10 3.5.
The e24 b9 started in 1982.
This car is billed as a 1981, so if it was an Alpina it would be a 630 CS B2, with a 230 hp 3 litre engine. The posting says it's a 633 and it has the 3.5L engine.
I'm pretty sure it's not an Alpina.

It's more than unlikely to be an Alpina, I mailed that guy & asked for pics of the Alpina badge on the dash & the engine, instead of pics I got this answer:
"is there supposed to be a badge on the dash? shit your second person that is starting to make me think that somebody just put the emblems of alpina on it cause it doesnt have that "
