Does anyone know what fluid the transmission takes on 88M5? I have heard ATF. I know my 87325 takes ATF. Also anyone know where to get a shop Manual?

Some 88 M5's used ATF, others should go for something like Redline MTL (70W80 GL-4). You'll have to actually check your transmission to be sure.
Does you have the full service history? At some point there might be a record of what's in it.
