View Full Version : Installed H4's - High Beams Are Now Acting Funny

Hey guys,

I got my H4's installed (I was surprized, I didn't expect the euro beam pattern, but it has them somehow :)) but for some reason, when I turn on my highbeams, the passanger side high beam and low beam's turn on and the driver side high beam and low beam's are off. I don't really think this is a common problem, but does anyone have any ideas as to what's going on?

Thanks in advance.

what exactly did you do? It's just plug and play.

i had the same problem, if you used relays and grounded on the body hook the other grounds up too, also put the powers to their original spot instead of leaving them as dead ends, and splice them in with your new power wires that way the circut is still the same and then it should work, also a wire might be backwards on a relay. or your high beam fuse is out and your other low beam fuse is out. if you live near white rock i can take a look at it if ya like i do have the same car.

h4's don't need any splicing, it's just plug and play simple as that. Unplug the sealed beam and plug in the H4... H4's use the same plug as sealed beams. If you talking about Euro Ellipsoids then that's another story.

I ordered them through my mechanic for the cheaper price, and he was kind enough to install them for me without charging me for labour. I don't really know what could be wrong with it, I guess it's no big deal but I know that it will just bug me more and more and more everyday...

They worked fine previous to the installation, and I doubt that he did anything weird with the wiring (as you said, its "plug and play") so I'm going to check the fuses to see if some are shot.

EDIT: It's fixed, fuse 1 was blown :D For some reason, both high beam and low beams turn on when I flash my high's :D What a deal!!

if you rewired them you would get better lighting, the wires on all cars are too small for the lights i put H4's in my car and used the stock wiring then i rewired it and it was way better. but if you wanted to you could use the stock wiring it is a pain in the ass to wire...
