alternator question

Hey, I have heard from a few people that it is possible to put an alternator from a 1977 530i into a 2002. Is this true, and what is different about the mounting of the alternator?

i duno i put a gm alt. in my 91 318is, made my own mounting brackets so i dont see why that isn't possible.

What's the point of using an alternator from a different car?

more amps for more music and light power

and it was 300$ cheaper but yes i need it for lights and amps for sound
