Hi all,
Any idea how frequently the inspection light comes on?
Thanks!

Do you mean the SI lights? It takes a long time for the green lights to drop until the yellow then red light up... I always reset them once the green are gone. That usually takes 6-8 months for me.

Hmmm no, Right above those lights I actually have a light that says Inspection and what appears to be the hands of a clock.
I guess its inspection time?
Is this some weird euro only thing?

The car is telling you that the next service will be an "Inspection" (I or II, depending on witch one you have done last time...
To go more into details: Each time the green LED are gone, you have to do something on the car: either Oil service (mainly changing oil, filter etc...) or Inspection I (mainly Oil Service + air filter + fuel filter) then again Oil service and then Inspection II (mainly Inspection II + coolant fluid drain + brake fluid drain + spark plug exchange) then Oil service then Inspection I etc, etc...
After each intervention, the service light as to be properly reset (either Oil service or Inspection, depending on what was done on the car).
Hope it could help.
The nice thing with BMW E-30 is that you always have something to do under the bonnet...

I never follow the si lights. I do the inspections by mileage, or if I'm bored. You can reset the lights yourself with a couple pieces of wire and a cheap switch from radio shack.
