Can any of you help me with some part info...
I am thinking about the Evo3 hood seal upgrade. Has anyone done this? The part numbers I have are 51-71-2-233-121 and 51-71-2-233-122, does anyone know if this is correct?
I am also planning to change out my chrome windshield trim to black. I have a feeling the cabrio windshields are different from the coupes. Anyway, I can't seem to find a black version on etk. Does anyone have a part number?
Thanks :)

those are the part numbers for the hood seal. as for the trim, why not just paint it?

The windshield will be out and the trim is 18 years old... if it's under $50 why not replace it? Plus, I thought the shadow might be all rubber and black?

yeah that is definately a good idea if your going to have it out, i don't see why you couldn't use one from an m3, they should have the same dimension windshield.

Ha ha, I know... maybe a bit lame.... The Evo3 had seal that ran along the fender, where the fender bolts are.

The evo3 hood seals are $16.35 US each from my BMW source and the windshield moulding is $18.12 US (if I go chrome again). Yet, for some reason the moulding on the convertible top storage lid is $52.77 US!?
I am having a lot of trouble with the other hood seal though. On my car there is one seal along the back of the engine bay. It looks like a proper moulding. Then it meets up with seals on the fender sides that are some kind of hard plastic. These are just off where the evo3 hood seal would run.
For some reason, I thought you could get one normal moulding that ran along the sides and back of the engine bay (like the trunk seal) and replaced the three seperate seals and would still allow for the evo3 seals. I don't know if that makes any sense.
I could swear that I've seen this before. Anyway, I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Does anyone know? I posted on roadfly and they could only find what I already have... maybe I'm on glue?
Hi !
Coming back (a bit late indeed...) to you initial question:
- After checking on BMW ETK, your ref. for the M3 Evo3 side hood seals are correct...
With this respect, I guess you have already visited the following site : http://e30m3performance.com/now_showing/E3_hood_seals/hoodseals1.htm
- Concerning the windshield trim , the ref. are the following:
Moulding (trim) "Schwarz" (black): 51 31 1 968 445
Cup "Schwarz" : 51 31 1 906 604
Best regards,
JMP :)
