If you're replacing the tie-rod, use a pickle fork. It'll rip the heck out of the boot but it will pop out. If not, put a jack right up under the end of the tie rod and jack it up enough to stop the end from moving, thread the old nut just to the top of the threads and mallet the heck out of it.

I don't think it's the strut side of the tie rod he's talking about. That came off no prob with a cool little tool from Princess Auto.

What part of the tie rod you need to remove?

once the tie rod id out of the strut...it id supposed to just twist out out of the steering coulumb thing...

what im talking about is the boot connecting the lower tie rod with the upper tie rod and the rack... that part... i have already removed it form the strut...

if anyone knows hot to do this...

drake has been helping me..
thanks

yes the boot comes off and there is a roundish piece with a flat side on either side and you can put a wrench on it, its the part that screws into the steering rack. and there should be a washer on either side.... i guess its no biggy if there isn't. i can come show you some time if you want, iv done it a couple times.
