Looks like progress! I hope Korva is taking care not to overspray your purty wheels/tires.

In the pics it doesn't even look like you need a new spoiler.

I'm also digging the bent exhaust look...haha.
Works looking good so far

Yea the spoiler looks fine. Or was there some cracking of it before?

Ha ha, yeah nothing wrong with the 'is' spoiler. I am just adding the correct m-tech spoiler.

I guess you're getting the whole car repainted, it'll look new after :smokin: I'm taking mine back this week if they can fit me in.

Yeah, the whole deal. I was planning to do it next year ... the accident changed those plans.

Well have to get some shots of our cabs together when there both done. Should look hot! :D

That would be awesome. I would love to bring my car down. However, I really don't know when it will be done and I don't want them to be in a big hurry. I want them to take their time and do a fantastic job.

Car or no car, I am planning to go for sure.

Do they just pound it back out?

Spalding

Yes, they put the car on a frame machine and it was pretty amazing how they were able to fix the rear quarter panel.

It's PINK! j/k I guess it's the lighting or the camera cause my paint looks different in almost every pic too... Did they finally get your rear bumper sorted out? When do you think you'll get it back? Since you got a complete respray how much did you have to shell out if you don't mind me asking? Also did they do the door, trunk, hood jams? They did my trunk but not the doors or under the hood. I didn't want to spend anymore money on it, but now I wish I had... Vic figures if I polish them by hand they'll come out pretty decent so I guess that's my next project...

Ha ha, yeah it's a custom pink!!! :buttrock:

Bumper: we'll see what it looks like on the body.

Cost: I'll let you know when it's all said and done. ICBC has the back, trunk, boot lid and half the drivers door. I have the rest and I supplied all the parts (except ICBC accident damage). Things like new seals, new antenna, front bumper, fogs etc.

Timeline: I figure two weeks for re-assemble and deficiencies. I had been planning for Sept 1-2ish.

Jambs: Yes, they painted the door jambs and the under hood jambs. I did not see the trunk, yet.

Your car is going to look so awesome once it's done! I can't wait to see it in person. I better get to work on mine or I won't even be able to park next to yours

Wow, thanks for the compliment! That means a lot considering that your car is one of the reasons I decided to buy an E30. I remember seeing it in the Bentall parkade and thinking “that car looks amazing, I need to get an E30 cab for myself”.

Seriously, my car has a long way to go before it compares to your car or Vince’s car for that matter. As far as Anthony goes, my car will never be an M3 so there will never be a comparison there.

Looks amazing. They've obviously wet-sanded the whole thing.

Now you're making me have doubts about mine. The painting is basically done, save a few touchups. The new colour is gorgeous and the finish looks great, but it has what I'd call a 'BMW factory original' amount of orange peel. I was spoiled by my 2002 with a finish that looked like glass.

This is probably a stupid question, but is it possible to go back and wet-sand once the clear has gone on? :screwy:

Man, am I excited to see that Touring again....!!! Awesome car.

Anyway, I'm no paint expert, but I thought they did the wet sand after it was all painted and cleared? Am I wrong? By the way, when are we putting it back together again? :buttrock:

Yes they can wet-sand the clear.

I like the shot of the ultra rare E30 Dune Buggy, with no doors.

Spalding,
Where can I get a bracket to mount a BC licence plate to a Euro car like the one on your car?

Did you add a euro car to your collection? If you did, awesome!

Anyway, I got mine from the BMW store. Part number 51 18 8 238 061 , they charged me $15.00 plus tax.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I'm not saying much until the deed is done. Some people might think I've lost my mind and they might be right. It's an interesting car and different from what I've owned so far. Stay tuned... more this weekend... :D

The only E30 worth losing your mind over is an EVO and if that's true I'm going to go nuts. :)
